Either in late 2009 or 2010 I bought a cross stitch kit. I had done several cross stitch patterns before, but this was larger (9" x 16", or approximately 23cm x 41cm) and more complicated than the previous ones. I did it for several months, then I got busy with other work and put it away. About two years ago I found it in a box and decided to continue. Kylie at Home Is My Heaven was finishing a large cross stitch and her work really inspired me to complete mine.
So I started again, stopped for a while, and continued....
Finally I finished it about 3 months ago, and recently found a nice frame at a thrift store for $3. I bought a mat board for $8 and framed the cross stitch. I think it looks very nice, if I may say so myself. ☺

It looks fantastic, Nil! It looks like a painting. You are so good with detail. I have been worried about Kylie. Is she okay? I haven't seen any new posts from her in ages...
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephenie. There are several mistakes on the cross stitch, but it's not noticeable. π
DeleteKylie is doing well. I met her while I was in Melbourne. She is busy with her family and home, so I'm not sure if she will update her blog anytime soon.
Oh, that's great news. Thanks Nil. How wonderful that you got to see each other in Melbourne.
DeleteShhhh! Don't tell anyone there are mistakes in it and no one will ever notice! It's beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteLOL I won't tell anyone then. π

DeleteNot sure why my comment appeared as "Unknown"! Happened on another blog I commented on, as well, yesterday!
DeleteHehee I was wondering who the unknown person was. Did you change your privacy settings?
DeleteSuch lovely work, Nil. So detailed! I have never done a cross stitch before but imagine you put lots of work and time into all those little x stitches so must be pleased now to have it finished and framed. Meg:)
ReplyDeletep.s. Glad to hear Kylie's doing well too. I have been wondering about her too.
Thank you Meg.
DeleteCross stitching is time consuming, but I think it's also like a meditation. π
Nice work Nil. It's always a good feeling to finish off those 'extended works in progress'.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Laura
Thank you Laura. Oh yes, it took too many years and I'm happy finally it's done. π
DeleteIt's beautiful Nil. Where will you hang it? X
ReplyDeleteThanks Jules. I hung it in the living room. π
DeleteIt's beautiful, Nil. You have a lot of patience to continue this over the years and finally see it through to fruition. I love that. :)
