I forgot to turn off the alarm on my phone, so it woke me up early. The first thing I did was to switch off the alarm settings for this week. I slept 7 1/2 hours and felt very relaxed. It was a foggy morning.
I had a cup of tea, oats with dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds, and a glass of smoothie. Then I went outside and cleaned up the backyard. During winter months I have asked the yard guy to come only once a month. So there are lots of wild flowers popping up, and it was nice to see bees and butterflies roaming around.
I have pots of herbs right outside the kitchen window. I weeded the area and changed several herbs to new pots.

I worked almost 3 hours and then it started getting too warm. I still have to weed the flower bed in the front yard. I will do it another day, probably on Wednesday. I checked the daisies, and they are doing well in full sun near the front door, and adapting to new pots.
Then I did a load of laundry, and had lunch. I had leftover food in the fridge, so I didn't have to cook anything. The lunch was jasmine rice with potato, lentil curry, sautéed mustard leaves, and sausages with peppers and tomatoes.
After lunch I watched an Alfred Hitchcock movie on Netflix. Then I organized several folders and shredded a bunch of old receipts. Time flies when I'm busy. By the time I unclogged a jammed shredder, and cleaned up small pieces of shredded paper on the floor it was already 6 PM! I took the trash bin to the curb, and thought how nice to do that while there's still light. I feel that the day is longer now, and so I have more time to do things. 😊
Tomorrow I plan to go to the bank, and if I feel not too lazy I will stop by the grocery store. After I post this, I will cook some cabbage, have dinner ( a bowl of vegetable soup and zucchini muffins) and try crocheting or, watch Netflix, or read a book. Decisions.. decisions... decisions...😉

Your yard is beautiful with the fog hanging over it. Oh, and don't you love the cast iron with the extra handle? I have one too and it is probably my most used pan.

DeleteYou have had a very productive first day of spring break! By the way, that is a very impressive staghorn fern you have there! I, too, need to get out in the garden and do some weeding - the weeds are growing like crazy with all the rain we've been having!

Nice that you already have flowering plants when all we have is still a lot of snow and ice in Nashua, but then we did get more snow the past 2 weekends.

DeleteWeather is getting very unpredictable now, isn't it? Even here one day it's very cold (for Florida) and the next day is too hot.
We occasionally get foggy mornings here which I just love. Its' often the sign of a warm day coming up. Your sausage dinner looks delicious. I'm a bit late with this one but I hope you had an enjoyable spring break Nil. Best wishes, Pauline
