Sneezing sneezing sneeeezzzziiinng.......

Yes, 2020 started with a sneeze! Actually, many sneezes. 😬  Because one of my goals is to practice gratitude, I tried to look at the brighter side. I'm getting a lot of rest. 😊

My winter break is almost over. I was not as productive as I wanted to be, but I did get somethings done. I crocheted another top, this time in size XS. I made a couple of changes to the pattern, and made the rows vertical. I ran out of yarn just before finishing it, and luckily I found one skein of the same yarn on Etsy.

I  am going back to work this Thursday, so I plan to wear this top. 😊

Crocheted top.

I strained  apple scrap vinegar. It took about two weeks to stop fermenting. I think it's pretty neat to have homemade vinegar.

The other day I thought I was getting better because my head didn't feel so stuffy. So a friend and I decided on a day trip, tentatively.  I made lentil patties (vadei) as a snack for the trip.  Then I woke up with a runny nose, and the weather was way too cold. Well, it was in mid 40s Fahrenheit, but in Florida that's too cold, especially for me.  So, the trip was cancelled, and I stayed home and wrote course syllabi for the new semester.

The yard has been completely neglected.  I have some herbs, but nothing else is ready for picking.  Thanks to rain, Mustard greens and Brussels sprouts are growing.

I have been drinking lots of water and tea, and gulping vitamin C hoping to get rid of this cold before going back to work. I still have a good appetite, so I think it's a good sign.

Last week I was grateful for:
1) Technology to keep in touch with my family and friends around the world.
2) Online yarn shops.
3) Leftover food.
4) Comfy sofa and blankets.
5) Rain.
6) Library books.

  15. Beautiful top! Glad you found the yarn you needed on Etsy. My nose seems to run constantly up at the cabin in the mountains. I just use a lot of kleenex. Maybe you can crochet some woolens for the cold weather...

  16. Hope you are feeling better soon, Nil. Thankfully, the New Year has gotten off to a healthful start for us. Our weather has been crazy as I noted in a blog post and even though its too cold for you, it is not to my liking because winger in New England is supposed to be colder. I liked your gratitude list for the New Year.

Did you crochet that top? It is gorgeous.

I have made apple scrap vinegar and it is great. Not hard at all.

I am going to make some of your lentil patties, they look delicious!

Lovely list of thankfulness. It is easy to forget to be thankful, and I think it helps to keep a positive mind.
