In the Backyard

There's a small lake behind my backyard. This morning I went for a walk and picked a bunch of wild flowers. They are now on the kitchen table.
Wild flowers.
I also found mushrooms, but I don't know if they are edible. I'll have to find a mushroom expert in the area and show them these.
Unknown mushroom.
I have a birdfeeder now and after a couple of days birds started using it. It's so much fun to watch birds. This morning there was a bully among them. A turtle dove was chasing mocking birds and other turtle doves, and just sitting on the perch looking around. Then a blue jay came and started eating seeds. The angry turtle dove tried pecking on the blue jay, but was no match for the blue jay's bigger beak. Finally the blue jay won and the bully flew away. Then other birds also came back. I wish I had taken photos, but I didn't want to scare them.

I picked Malabar spinach, basil, rosemary, curry leaves and scallions from the yard for an omelet. I sautéed  chopped greens with onions, a pinch of turmeric powder, salt & pepper and add two eggs to make a big omelet. It was so tasty and full of fresh herb flavors.

I was planning to work in the yard this afternoon, but now it is raining nonstop. It's almost 7 pm and time to make dinner. This morning I boiled chickpea in the pressure cooker and will use some of it to make chickpea curry. The rest will go in the freezer.
Monday is Labor Day, so I have a long weekend at home. 💃💃💃
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
